The April Book Group attendees were few but that did not hamper the discussion. Once again, we covered several topics, some of which were related to books 🙂 At one point we talked about lesser-known Maine children’s authors of note. Lucia recommended Ashley Bryan’s Freedom Over Me (Newberry Honor book). Janet suggested Lea Wait’s Seaward Born.
Fatelessness by Imre Kertesz (2002 Nobel Prize winner)
Moonlight Mile by Dennis Lehane (#6 in the Kenzie and Gennaro series)
The Tobacconist by Robert Seethaler
Final Mission: The North Woods by Joseph R. Wax
Ernie’s Ark: The Abbott Falls Stories by Monica Wood
We have only received a few nonfiction suggestions for our group read in June. The members at the April meeting agreed that the top contender so far is Jon Meacham’s His Truth Is Marching On: John Lewis and the Power of Hope, recommended by Elaine Pew. If you have a suggestion, please email us at Wiscasset.Library.Friends@gmail.com. We will be choosing our nonfiction book at the May meeting.
